setting up brother HL-2170W printer.?
i had set-up my brother HL-2170W a while back for wireless printing but it just disconnected itself for no apparent reason. Now i’m trying to reconnect it back as to where i could print wirelessly again but the problem is that the i.p. address is showing up as 0.0.0.0 no matter how much i do a factory reset on the printer as well as the printer network card.
Your modem or router may not be releasing an IP address, so you can try to reset it. Your IP address is probably dynamic so if you know how to configure it to static that will solve future issues. If not, try to set up your printer to the host name instead of IP address . Your printer host name should not change when IP address is released.
You have to use either LAN or WLAN configuration, so switch it back to WLAN. When you plug your NIC cable to the printer it defaults to LAN. Set up your WLAN configuration properly.

Please Help me find a printer that suits my needs.?
I have been comparing the Brother 3040cn with the Dell 1320c. The brother is cheaper per page to operate than the Dell, but replacement cartridges are about 4x more and have less capacity than those for Dell. I have a graphics design business and need to print proofs for clients. My proofs need to be good quality and my printer needs to be cost efficient. Is it worth spending more for the Brother Cartridges? Open to suggestions on other laser printers within the same price range ($200-$300)

This is where I find it confusing. When purchasing Toner cartridges, Brother lists they print 2k copies per cartridge for $48. But Dell lists 2k copies for $15. Yet in specs and reviews they say that the cost of operation of the brother is far less than the Dell. Who has it right?
If the Brother is cheaper to operate than the Dell, it doesn’t matter that the toner cartridge is 4x more because that should have been taken into account in calculating the operating costs. Both are good printers – if money is the highest priority, go with the least expensive to operate. Be sure you note that the Brother will likely need additional Memory than it comes standard, especially if you’re printing graphics.

The Nikon is a little heavier, but it has a wider field of view. I would favor the Nikon. I don’t think you will notice the difference between a 10 and a 12, except the 12 will be heavier. I would stick with the 10 x 50. Looks like a good choice.
