yeah fhotoace thats the only thing that may put me off buying the pentax..it dont have Li-ion batteries, against the nikon d40 which is roughly the same price, that does which is kind off sending me on the Nikon route.
Spend the $50, it will be the best investment you make with this purchase.
The only problem with the K100D Super is that it does not use Li-ion batteries and that is a shame. The only Pentax models that do are the K10D and K20D (or Samsung GX10 and GX20).
Li-ion batteries hold their charges longer and can last up to five years before they have to be replaced.

Which Pentax macro lens, 35mm f2.8 vs 50mm f2.8 for food photography?
I have Pentax K20 and looking into food photography. I would like to get a macro lens but can’t decide. I would prefer hand held shot in natural light and shorter focal length but a little worry of food splashing to the lens while cooking or lens getting foggy from the steam etc. I read so many good reviews of 35mm macro limited lens for its sharpness and great bokeh. 50mm macro is widely used for food photography, I think. Is 35mm too wide and short on focal length for food photography?

i use the tamron 90mm f/2.8 macro lens with my sony camera… and find that is good for still life, food, insects…
