Of those three I would definitely go with the Marumi. Another good and inexpensive ring flash alternative is the Orbis. I’ve messed around with one before, and it delivers performance very close to the Canon ring flash at over half the cost.

It won’t physically fit. Those adapters that may work may not exist for your combination. Better to save up the money and get a real micro (Nikon calls theirs “micro”) one.

I would like to echo E. J Tastad’s review. He basically nailed every point you can make about this camera.
Its a wonderfully small compact body, that allows use of any of the millions of Pentax lenses built to date. This is a huge advantage especially since there are a lot of legendary Pentax lenses out there that still shoot with the best of today’s glass. This also can ease your budget quite a bit, since you can pick up superb manual primes for under 60 dollars. When I first moved to Pentax I had about 15 old manual lenses that shot like a champ with my K-7… if nothing else, it will give you a huge appreciation to all the photographers that had to catch all the memorable shots that we have today… without the help of Autofocus, Advanced Metering, Auto Aperture… etc.
I use this with my DA* 16-50 and DA* 50-135 lenses, and get nothing but fantastic photos from them. Both those professional grade lenses and the K-7 cost less than half the cost of competing brands would have cost me for the similar features of the K-7 and IQ and of the glass.
Weather sealing is splash resistant as well… which is more than most camera bodies can claim. I have had this out in pouring rain and had the basic (the K-7′s kit lens if you buy the kit) 18-55 WR lens on it, and never had an issue.
Pentax is a name that doesn’t get a lot of recognition due to lack of advertising, but they are alive and well making outstanding cameras and glass.
Cheap weather resistant lenses than Pentax makes are the 18-55WR and 50-200WR… you can both of those for just over 300(total, not each)… and they are the best “kit” classed lenses I have ever used.
Pro: Features & quality per dollar, you may not find a better value than the K-7. This DSLR provides extensive features and options of a camera that would cost more.
Cons: ISO performance is noisy at the high end. This in turn limits quality low light shots unless you are capturing stationary subjects.
I am coming from a Pentax K10D and considered moving on to another brand. Other than being a full frame camera the K-7 has all the features I wanted. The build quality is not quite where the K10D was but still a very durable camera. All the other new features such as Live view and the HD video are great along with the advancements in the metering and the larger view in the viewfinder along with boasting 14+ megapixels. I use mine with the DA* lenses and they are a match made in heaven.

Will lenses for an old Pentax K1000 work on my Pentax k-x?
They’re both k-mount lenses, correct?
I’m just concerned because my dad’s K1000 was an SLR and the k-x is a DSLR.
I’m a little fuzzy on this, but doesn’t my camera body tell the lens to change the aperture? And if I’m using autofocus, doesn’t it signal the lens to correctly focus? I’m guessing it couldn’t “send” these messages to the lenses from the K1000.
I’m okay with having to manual focus and change the aperture on the lens itself (is that how the lenses for a K1000 worked? My dad has yet to find his old camera bag, so I can’t look at them.) but will I even be able to use these lenses on my camera? Or will it get “confused”?
I’m thinking about wanting to invest in a new lens, but if these worked I would be so happy, lenses are expensive.

Yes, lenses from your dad’s Pentax K1000 will mount on your Pentax K-x. You’ll have to look in the Owner’s Manual for instructions on how to set your K-x to accept an older manual focus lens.
In a review of the Pentax K100D in the Oct. 2006 issue of Shutterbug there are instructions on how to set the K100D to use older manual focus lenses on page 2. Its likely that the procedure is very similar on your K-x.

Does anyone know where I can buy the adapter for a Pentax *istD2 digital SLR so I can use my old 645 lenses?
I have an older Pentax 645 camera and bought my new *istD2 just recently. One of the reasons I purchased the *ist was because I can “supposedly” buy an adapter for the use of my old lenses. I have yet to find the adapter. Also, the internet company where I bought the camera said they didn’t realize there was an adapter available.

Why won’t my Brother 2170w printer work with Windows Vista?
I recently purchased a new computer running 32 bit windows vista and a brother 2170w laser printer. It says that the driver is being installed correctly, and windows says that it is there. then when I try to print, the printer isn’t listed. I’ve tried having windows search for a new printer and every time that I do, the program stops responding. How can I make my new printer work with my new computer?
Make sure you’re not hooking the USB cable up before the software is installed. Otherwise Windows will attempt to install “default” drivers in it’s place, then the CD drivers just conflict and you never get a true printer install. Download PC Decrapifier and completely uninstall the printer etc. Then run the CD again and follow the step accordingly before hooking up the USB cable.
