Brother Mfc-8860Dn – True Automatic Duplexing For Double Sided Faxes
The Brother MFC-8860DN is a printer that covers all its bases. While it’s almost impossible to find a multi purpose unit that doesn’t seem to sacrifice one feature for another, the MFC-8860DN is pretty much a solid performer in every area possible for its class. If you don’t know exactly what you want in a printer, and have the money, why not just have a printer that does it all?
The first thing you would expect in a top of the line multifunction center is a fast print speed of at least30 pages per minute, and the MFC-8860DN delivers. The print quality is crisp, and comes as the professional level of 1200 X 1200 dots per inch, which will keep your text and black and white graphics looking clean. Maintaining its standing as a truly high end unit, it offers compatibility with high yield toner cartridges, which can produce up to 7,000 pages per cartridge. If your business demands a high total page output, high capacity toner cartridges are a must for saving time, and cutting overall cost per page. Durability is key as well, and with a maximum monthly duty cycle of 20,000 pages, you can expect a long life from this unit.
An automatic duplex feature is a must have for the medium sized office that requires maximum print versatility, and the MFC-8860DN delivers again. While some units that claim a duplexing feature on the package, it can be misleading, as many times only duplex printing is included and double sided copying and scanning must be done by hand. This is simply not the case with this model, as it offers fully automatic duplexing on data input and output, including printing, copying, scanning, and even faxing.
On top of double sided faxes, this unit includes a built in 33.6K bps Super G3 Fax Modem for rapid faxes at a rate of 2 seconds per page. The implemented quick scan memory transmission is also locked at 2 seconds a page. If 32 MBs of on board memory aren’t enough, the MFC-8860DN isupgradable to a whopping 544 MBs though, even with the standard RAM, you’ll be able to store up to 600 pages in the fax memory and 340 auto dial locations, with a total broadcast capacity of 390 locations. Dual access, fax forwarding, automatic redial and PC fax capabilities are just some of the features that complete the well rounded list of user friendly fax options.
The only thing you could really argue that the 8860DN is lacking for a truly luxurious unit is wireless networking capabilities. While it does offer connectivity to a network through an Ethernet port, you will unfortunately have to turn to its older “brother”, the MFC-8870DW for wireless. Both models also include high speed USB 2.0 and Parallel ports as well.
Built in wireless networking aside, the MFC-8860DN is hard to top as far as being well rounded while also remaining at the top of the line in every category. When your small business has no margin for quality loss in absolutely any area, the Brother MFC-8860DN is the model of choice.

Does Brother MFC-7840W laser printer print color documents? Or only black?
In general, when you buy a toner for a laser printer, does it print color documents? If you want to print color documents do you have to buy a specific color toner for the laser printer? Does this model contain two slots one for the black toner and one for the color toner?
The model of printer you listed is a monochrome (black & white) only, laser printer. There are no color toner cartridges available for it, only black. You can purchase color laser printers that will print in color, but this one does not.
