01 Audi A4 w/ 140k miles, good buy?
2001 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro w/ 140,000 miles for $4995. My little brother had one a few years ago, was a pretty good car, and really cute.
I’m looking to find a cheaper car w/ low gas mileage and I don’t really know much about the Audi. I hate the idea of buying anything w/ over 100,000 miles, but I’ve already looked at it, and he is negotiable, so I figured it is worth researching if he’ll take $3900. Any information you can give me would be appreciated.
How long do they last? Are they reliable? Any common repairs that need to be made around certain number of miles? Anything at all that may help me make a decision.
I would rather not hear your opinions about the Honda, Subaru, or VW…etc…I just want facts. Thank you!
Nice cars but they do have some issues you should consider going in.
Front control arms need to be replaced about every 70,000 to 90,000 miles or so so you may need to do those. That’s about $2000 or so to do everything.
Timing belt needs to be done at 80,000 so again you could be close to needing that. That’s about $1,000
Audi does have some electrical problems that can come up, things like seat motors window regulators, engine sensors, etc. It’s a nice car but like you said it has a lot of miles and is going to need some care. Good luck no matter what you decide.
