what is the value of a pentax 20mm f 4.5 takumar lens if anyone knows it would be usefull thak you.?
Condition is everything with s/h gear, do you have the original lens caps? Is there any fungus? Is the lens clear and free from scratches? Is the aperture working and ‘snappy’? Are there any signs of use, worn paint etc? All these effect value.
On the plus side it’s one of the rarer Pentax Takumar lenses, on the negative side they often suffer from a brown/yellow cast caused by a radio active element in the coating deteriorating.
For an absolutely mint lens with all it’s lens caps and in original pouch, value would be around £50.00, anything less and the price tumbles to less than £10.00. Not much I know.
All Pentax lenses have the advantage that they can be used on Pentax DSLR’s (with an adapter).
