Film Flash on Digital SLR Camera?
I have a Pentax K100D and am looking to purchase a flash for my camera (to use ON CAMERA via the Hot Shoe). I know that voltage is a big deal so I know not to use an older film SLR flash on my camera. and am wondering if that will work? It is for a film SLR but is made for a Pentax…will this flash work? With it being a film flash would I need anything extra to use it on my DSLR? I need something cheap bc I don’t have alot of money to spend and can’t afford a $200+ flash right now. Thanks for any help!
Try to buy a flash that has its own power source like batteries.
Using flash that draws power from the camera will quickly drain you camera battery life forcing you to buy additional camera battery packs.
Sorry I cannot comment on Film flash versus digital camera flash, i am not sure if a difference exists except for perhaps the mounts.
