Pentax A20 10 megapixels Camera
Optio A20 announced today takes seat at the top of the range of compact advanced of Pentax. This apparatus succeeds A10 left at the beginning of year.The principal difference compared to its predecessor comes from the sensor, A20 raising this ten million pixels which seems to want to become the new standard for the compact ones, whereas A10 aimed already high with its eight million pixels! This characteristic and the support of cards SDHC put aside, A20 is satisfied to take again the ingredients which made the success of its predecessor.

Optio A20 profits from a system of stabilization by the sensor which compensates for the parasitic movements inflicted by the photographer with the apparatus, and thus reduces the number of blurs of moved. This system of stabilization is particularly useful to photograph in conditions of weak luminosity. When it is a question of capturing subjects moving, one privileges the rise of sensitivity (up to 1.600 Iso), which obliges the apparatus tochoose a shutter speed high. It should be noted that in this mode, because of the deterioration of the quality of image caused by this high level of sensitivity, dimensions of the image are reduced to five million pixels.
The other characteristics to be retained are related to autofocus with follow-up of the subject making it possible to more easily photograph a subject moving, and that of recognition of the faces which improves the exposure and the development on the subjects. A20 is compact of automatic type which offers however interesting advanced adjustments, like the possibility of disconnecting the autofocus. The initial users profit from the mode says “Car pict”: rather than to have to select oneself a mode, one rests on the apparatus which commutates automatically in the mode more adapted (normal, night, landscape and portrait) according to the characteristics of catch of sight. This small presentation of A20 would not be complete without a word on the compactness of the apparatus, and the mode video DivX MPEG 4 which it embarks.
