Pentax K1000 no light thru lens?
I have a Pentax K1000 camera and loaded the film , took 4 pic’s-then later went to take more and I couldn’t see anything thru lens(black) I purchased a new battery and still same. Does any one have a suggestion?
Its probably just a ‘gummy’ mirror cushion easily checked and replaced. Just be careful not to get any ‘gunge’ on the mirror as you can ruin the mirror trying to get it off, they are silvered on the side facing you. Lighter fuel is the best solvent, but your better of just digging the old seal away (take a note of the dimensions first). Solvent on the focusing screen or mirror is the only thing that endangers your camera here.
I collect 35mm cameras and often need to replace the light seals and mirror cushions. I get mine from this guy in Texas, Jon Goodman really is a strait chap to deal with (well nearly 12,000 feedback and still 100% tells all)

The Pentax K1000 is one of the easiest to do, and at these prices its not worth bothering with any other supplier.
