Looking for a budget minded, high quality prime for Pentax K-x.?
I always enjoyed the “nifty fifty” 50mm f1.8 Mark II for the canon Rebel series (I had one for my XSi, best bang for the buck under a hundred dollars), just came into possession pf a Pentax K-x. Not being as familiar w/ their lens lineup, looking for suggestions for low-light portarait type lenses that would be of that same ilk as the Canon 50 f1.8….(great IQ, low price, build quality like a toy LOL). I plan on doing some digging, Pentax forums and the such, just looking for a head start/direction. Thoughts? Appreciated
You are in luck. Pentax is one of only two companies I’m aware of (Nikon being the other) that maintained backwards compatibility with their older (non-digital and even non-autofocus) lenses.
So….if you’re willing to do your own focusing and exposure settings, you can score a really good lens for pretty cheap. The usual outlets — eBay, craigslist, used section of real camera stores — will all have what you’re looking for sooner or later…
