Singer, Brother, or Janome? Which brand of sewing machine is better?
Which brand is better in terms of quality and long lasting? Which one has the most pros? Which one works the best?
Which brand would be better for lockstitch and which brand would be better for serger/overlock?
Can anyone please tell me the difference between these three brands?
Each brand has low end models and high end models and many in between.
It is always best to visit sewing machine dealers to see what will work best for you.
Sewing machines and sergers are two different products. A sewing machine can simulate what a basic serger can do, but a serger cannot be used exclusively for garment sewing.
Make a wish list of what you want to sew and take the list (include your budget) and start visiting the various dealers.
I prefer Babylock for user friendliness, performance and warranty.

How much business will you do?

If you are a specialty boutique that provides a commodity to your neighborhood you may see the same traffic as a popular clothing store. If you run a food stand, you will probably do a large amount of business daily as well. The bottom line is that for high traffic businesses a high speed receipt printer is best.
What will be printed on the receipts?
Aside from the customer’s transaction details, what will be printed on the receipts? Many businesses print their logo for added brand recognition and others may add terms and conditions. If you want a receipt that prints in vibrant colors you should seek an Ink jet POS printer. They can even print coupons.
Now that you’ve chosen a printer you have to set it up properly. Follow these simple tips to ensure that you configure your printer appropriately.
Download the drivers
Once you have the printer unpackaged, get the manual and read how to download the drivers. Some printers come with installation CD ROMs in which case you may just be able to pop them into your computers DVD drive and follow the instructions. If you have to download the drivers install them onto the computer then follow the installation wizard to complete the set up.
Connect the printer
After you’ve successfully downloaded and installed the correct drivers you have to connect the printer to the computer by way of either USB, Ethernet, parallel or serial connection, whichever the printer uses. After you have connected your printer turn it on and allow it to interface with the computer. At this point you should have ensured that all of the cables were plugged in securely and accurately. You don’t want to short circuit.
You will need to consult the printer’s manual to make sure that you have configured the set up properly. It is suggested that you consult the manual before you do anything else and keep it handy while installing the drivers and connecting the printer. If you have done it right, your receipt printer will be ready for settings and printing in no time!

I have a computer with a till system called 4POS on it, I was wondering, how can I connect a cash draw to my computer without a receipt printer? I don’t already have a cash drawer and I need it to be less than £70.00 or $96.00.
Connect it without receipt printer.. it all depend on your system.. or just cancel printing receipts from options, using the manual to change the options you want..

Today, specialist IT provider Maxatec announces that TouchStar technologies has selected its Advantage LX barcode printer product for their TouchPC range of mobile IT systems, provided to the fuel distribution, transport, retail and manufacturing industries. The printer is used to issue payment and invoice receipts in-cab and on-board transport systems.
With clients including BP, Total Gaz and AFS at Heathrow Airport, Manchester-based TouchStar delivers robust touch-screen computers to businesses requiring field automation, such as on-board sales on airlines and trains, van sales and field service organisations.
