Insurance Claim, but missing some information?
I was in Thailand, where i had a drink on a night out but then totally blacked out. got a police report but forgot to mention about a watch i had gone missing. the phone i had got stolen has already been replced by my phone insurance. and the didgital camera i had, i gave a wrong name to the police officer.
Now i blame all of this as i was very hungover…but the police belives i was spiked..hence the blackout.
So now i am unsure as to how to work this.
i have nto got the original receipt for the phone, as it was lost in thailand..as i bought the camera in thailand.
the watch was very expensive but as it is not written on the report, what can i do?? Could i actually write it in myself?? i dont know as i need to compensated! The police report i have is one written in english and one in Thai.

What is thermal paper?
Thermal paper is paper that is impregnated with heat sensitive chemicals, often with a top coat or sealer. The pigmented chemicals darken when exposed to heat, as when they are passed over a heated printer head. While thermal paper used to be expensive, the prices have come down considerably in recent years as the use of thermal printing systems and thermal paper has increased. The increased competition and better technology has made thermal paper for receipts, credit card receipts and food service tickets the state of the art for point of sale technologies.
How to choose thermal paper for your business
There are a number of factors to consider when choosing thermal paper that is right for your business. Those factors range from the size your machines require to the quality of the paper to the price per roll. Here is a look at things you should consider when trying to determine which type of thermal paper is right for your business.
What point of sale machines do you have?
The most obvious requirement for your thermal paper is that it fits your machines. Thermal paper is available in a wide range of widths and lengths. Most machine manuals recommend using a specific size and some may recommend a specific brand of thermal paper to use for best results. If you use the wrong size or type of paper in your machines, you could invalidate your equipment’s warranty. Even using paper that is too small for your machine can have an impact on your bottom line. Using POS thermal paper that is the highest diameter and width accepted by your machine will increase the number of receipts that you will get from each roll and decrease the amount of time you will have to spend changing the rolls.
Why is the paper important to quality?
There are two major factors in the print quality of the receipts and information printed out by your POS, FAX and other systems that use thermal paper. The first, of course, is the quality of the printer used. The second is the quality of the paper, and it has a surprisingly large effect on the quality of the print. This is true even with standard printers, but it is all the more true when the ‘ink’ is actually part of the paper as it is with thermal paper.
One important factor in choosing the right thermal paper for your business is how important and how enduring the print quality is with a specific paper. The pigment in many lower quality thermal papers is subject to fading within a short time of printing. If you rely on printed receipts for your record-keeping, then it will be important for you to choose a thermal paper that will stand up to time. This is not as important if you use a point of sale system that stores all transactions. Your customers, however, will very likely appreciate the extra attention to quality when they find themselves trying to balance a checkbook or credit card invoice using receipts that they can actually read.
What’s the significance of A-grade when applied to thermal paper?
While there are many different kinds of thermal paper, there are two grades of paper that are most commonly used with POS systems – “A” grade and “TMP” economy grade. The biggest difference between the two is the brightness of the paper. A grade thermal paper is much brighter white than economy paper, which means higher contrast and better legibility of the printing. “A” grade thermal paper is more expensive than economy grade, as might be expected, but it will give your business a much more professional image. You will have to decide yourself whether the additional cost is worth it.
There is one other reason you might consider using higher quality thermal paper with your POS equipment. Lower quality paper gives off more dust when going through the printer, which can contribute to machine breakdown and paper jams. The investment in higher quality paper could pay off in time saved doing maintenance on your point of sale system.

It seems that before the holiday decorations have been stored, we’re already thinking about tax returns. A little bit of organization and some planning can help you keep your tax bill down, and alleviate the stress of tax time.
What can you do?
Create tax folders for 2010. Mark each folder with a label indicating the type of forms and documents it will contain. For instance, my business has folders for Payroll, Bank Statements,Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Income Tax. My Income Tax folder contains miscellaneous tax documents such as Personal Property Tax receipts, end of year earnings receipts, etc. Having these prepared folders makes filing documents easy and painless throughout the year. This in turn, makes calculations easier at tax time, and in the event that the IRS audits you… all of your documents are neatly filed and easily retrievable.
Use an experienced and professional bookkeeper and accountant. Maintaining the books on the computer is a snap. There are a number of excellent software products on the market today. It’s best to allow your bookkeeper and accountant significant input in the decision making process when you purchase your accounting software. A qualified bookkeeper will balance the company checkbook at the end of each month. Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss Statements should also be printed and reviewed monthly. These documents help owners know exactly how the business is doing financially, thus making it easier to make better educated growth and development decisions.

A little help with my Sony walkman?
I’ve just bought a Sony walkman (NWZ-E436F) and I’m having a few problems.
*How do I transfer videos easily onto the walkman? It just keeps saying there’s no file, or the software won’t convert it.
*When I upload my album art or organize my music into nice, neat folders using windows media player (better than the software that came with the walkman!), it looks perfect when plugged into my pc, but when i scroll through on my walkman, it’s still the same mish mash!
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I can’t take it back because I threw away the packaging and i lost the receipt (stupid I know).
This question was very techically deficient. There are some important details missing here that you should have included in your question – I don’t know what a “mish mash” is or what you did to try and put videos on your player. I don’t even know what kind of video you tried putting on – what format? According to the review on cNet, it will play MPEG-4, H.264/AVC, and WMV file types. You might have to convert your file into one of those file types first, then use the software.
As for your audio problems, the player will most likely arrange your files for display according to the tags for each file – the folder arrangement w/i the player isn’t what matters.
You need a program that will allow you to either batch edit or individually edit the tags for your mp3 files. I suggest MP3tag – it’s a great program I’ve used w/my Sansa for years. It will allow you to organize your library by cutting down the number of tags for the same info (you won’t have six different spells of the same band/artist, or nine different genre listings for “rock”). Get a program like that, tinker for a half hour or so, then you should be good to go.

Top 10 Paper Organization Tips
Paper is one of the biggest problems we have as a society. Here are ten quick tips to get you organized and keep you that way!
- Have a big pile of paper? Flip it over and start sorting at the bottom. Chances are that most of the stuff on the bottom is old, expired, or no longer valuable to you. You will be able to make a big dent in a short period of time.
- When deciding on whether to file something or throw it away, ask yourself if you will really need to access it again. FACT: We only access 20% of what we file.
- Consider using digital storage to house your files. Use a small desktop scanner such as Neat Receipts, to quickly and easily store and sort documents.
- If you do use paper files, use names that you will be able to recall easily. For example, if you never remember the name of the gas company, file it simply under gas.
- Most bills can be thrown away after one year’s time. Consider using a monthly filing system to keep track of when to throw them away. Create 12 hanging file folders, one for each month. As you pay the bills that month, put them into that month’s folder. When the month rolls around again the following year, throw away the previous year’s bills and start over again. This will ensure that you never have more than one year’s bills taking up space in your office.
- When sorting through paperwork, touch it once and make a decision. If you need to take action, do it now. If someone else needs to attend to it, give it to them. If it is something to reference later on, create a reference file and place it there. Putting it back in the pile to address later will only make things worse.
- When you have a lot of tasks to do for the day, quickly sort the tasks in order of importance. Do what is most profitable or important to you first, then move on from there. Therefore, if you only have a little bit of time you will be addressing the most critical issues first.
- Stop the mail from coming in. Sign up for digital statements to cut down on the paper entering your home.

- Finally, call catalog and magazine companies and tell them you no longer wish to receive their offerings. For most catalogs, you can view their offerings online and even if you throw one catalog away, there is another coming in the mail very soon!
Along with these tips, ask yourself the following questions:
- “What is the worst thing that would happen if I threw this document away?”
- “How difficult would it be for me to get it again if I had to?”

Mac OS X operating system enables you to control who can see, access, and modify your personal files and directories, by setting up permissions. This is helpful to control access to the data and Mac OS X sets up permissions for files, directories, and disks automatically. You can alter the permissions for a particular item by using Info window in Finder. However, if the permissions get damaged or encounter any other problem, you cannot access the stored data from file, directory, or hard drive volume. It may cause data loss situations, and needs Mac Recovery solutions to extract lost data.
Use Repair Privileges Utility To Fix Permission Issues:
You can set the permissions to their default values if you’ve not modified the permissions intentionally. The Repair Privileges Utility is included in Mac OS X operating system. If you’ve changed the /Library/Receipts folder, this option may not work.
